A note from Enzo Ferrari in a Renault 5 Turbo 1

It's obvious that Il Commendatore loves sports cars and red.

So when in 1952 one of his close friends from the world of automobiles presented him with his new acquisition, the little transalpine hot hatch of the time, the Renault 5 Turbo 1 produced in only 1,820 units, initially designed for rally racing, a motor sport that differs from the one in which Ferrari competes but which offers an equally delicious sensation, Enzo could not resist taking the wheel to go around Maranello, the very place where Ferraris are tested, and he was won over!

The recipe for this guilty pleasure, under a small, light body and weighing 970 kg, a 1.4-litre longitudinal engine located in a central position offering a power of 160 horsepower associated with a five-speed manual gearbox that allows it to reach 100 km/h in 7.7 seconds to reach a top speed of 218 km/h.

The cherry on the cake is that it is red!

It should be remembered that Enzo Ferrari already used French cars for his personal travel, namely the Peugeot 404 and 504.

But Il Commendatore nevertheless finds that this car is missing a few things, he who does not like to change things in cars, will add to his friend a Pioneer brand car radio badged Ferrari mounted in his Ferrari factory in Maranello.

A sound system just like the Ferraris of the time.

A plus that makes this Renault unique thanks to the touch of Enzo Ferrari and whose car radio still adorns this example numbered 0503 which was exceptionally restored in 2000 in the factory where it was designed with only 27,300 km.
