Conditions for importing licensed vehicles

Importation of vehicles by:

Invalids of the war of national liberation

Children of Chouhada with an incurable disease or motor disabilities

Disabled civilians

New resident


You are disabled from the national liberation war:

If the rate of your disability is equal to or greater than 60%, you can acquire, every five (05) years, with total exemption from customs duties and taxes:

a new passenger vehicle imported in foreign currency and with your own means,

a new passenger vehicle, with a cylinder capacity not exceeding 2000 cc (1800cc from January 1, 2020) for gasoline vehicles and 2500 cc (2000cc from January 1, 2020) for diesel vehicles. (this is not valid for cars assembled in Algeria called MIB is which benefit from an exemption from customs duties).


You are a child of a chahid with an incurable disease or a motor disability:

You can acquire every five (05) years, exempt from customs duties and taxes:

- a new passenger vehicle or having a maximum of three years' service with a cylinder capacity not exceeding 2000 cc for gasoline vehicles and 2500 cc for diesel vehicles.

You are a resident civilian disabled:

- Suffering from paraplegia or having both lower limbs amputated, Holder of a category "F" driving license; you can acquire every five (05) years, with exemption from duties and taxes and exempt from foreign trade and exchange control formalities: a new passenger motor vehicle specially fitted out in the factory, with a cylinder capacity less than or equal to 2000 cc for gasoline vehicles and 2500 cc for diesel vehicles.

Customs clearance of this type of vehicle can only take place upon presentation of a medical certificate: issued by the medical committee of the wilaya of residence, endorsed by the services of the health and population directorate of the same wilaya.

You are a resident national:

You can import, in accordance with the regulations in force: a new commercial vehicle; a new passenger vehicle.
