Motorists' demonstration in Algiers: 1913

Writer: COCKPITCOCKPIT

1913 Algiers: Motorists demonstrate against the one-day imprisonment of a driver who caused a traffic jam. This action was initiated primarily by Algiers' auto repair shops, with the support of motorists who gathered under the windows of the city hall, expressing their anger with banners and honking horns.

The demonstration didn't receive much response from the authorities, but it nevertheless ended happily with an aperitif at the legendary Tantonville café.
